Bought to replace our 10 year old Kenmore. We looked at a number of more expensive models as replacements, most notably the Miele, Ricarr and Simplicity brands. This is after we looked at Costco, where every vacuum cleaner was a pivoting head and the vast majority of parts and components were plastic, ultra-slim cleaning heads, and eclectic, on-trend color combinations with useless gimmicks. We have a friend in the UK who lives near a Dyson factory and he warned us never to buy a Dyson, no matter how stylish it looks. We have almost 3,500 square feet of carpet that I vacuum every other day, the small plastic nozzles just can't handle it. No fancy tools are required, but good air filtration, HEPA filters, and a metal pole on the front of the vacuum to prevent damage from sucking in harmful substances were key factors. We have no pets, so pet grooming is not required. For some reason I'm not a fan of swivel nozzle styles because it puts pressure on your wrist when maneuvering the vacuum, and with our amount of carpet that's an issue. This vacuum cleaner was just perfect. The price is right, very long cord, wide brush (15 inches), improved never break tape and very quiet. It has a detachable wand for use in tight spaces or furniture, as well as some basic tools that are ugly but functional. It is packaged in a sachet that helps in suction and removal of airborne particles. It is ready to use literally without tools. This vacuum offers cleaning and quality parts on par with Ricarr and Simplicity for about half the price. I've been using it for about 4 months and I'm very happy with it. Highly recommended.
