Excellent commercial vacuum cleaner!

The thing is built like a tank. Has excellent suction power. We have been in the cleaning industry for over 30 years and this vacuum is the best hard floor cleaner we have ever used and we have used many of them. It's heavy, but I knew that when I bought it. To be strong, powerful and durable, it has to be a little heavy. We tried Dyson, Shark and other lightweights that worked well for a while. They just don't work in a commercial environment. The tool kit and the suction hose also do a great…

Lots of little problems add up to a frustrating vacuum

Pros: *Great suction and efficiency on all surfaces *Long cord *Seems like it will last a long time Bad: *Heavy, too heavy to maneuver easily *Height adjustment is quite comfortable, hard dial in front compared to foot control. It's a waste of time. * Cord does not coil easily due to suction hose * Stick, hose is too short, stick is too short. I'm 5ft 9" tall and had to bend down to get it on the floor and it barely stretches which means you have to lug a heavy vacuum every 2ft to close…

vacuum research. suitable for handheld vacuum cleaners

I am very satisfied with this vacuum cleaner. I like to research anything I'm going to spend my money on, especially if it's over $50. I looked at all the popular brands and vacuums to replace my old (+15 year old) Eureka vacuum. I knew I didn't need a bagless vacuum as I prefer not to dust and such. I also wanted a basic vacuum that was also sealed to keep allergens and dust out of my house. So, after a lot of research and thought, this led me to the Hoover Commercial Vacuum Cleaner. I like…

Pros
  • not only usable for the intended purpose
Cons
  • makes me nervous

Bought to replace our 10 year old Kenmore. We looked at a number of more expensive models as replacements, most notably the Miele, Ricarr and Simplicity brands. This is after we looked at Costco, where every vacuum cleaner was a pivoting head and the vast majority of parts and components were plastic, ultra-slim cleaning heads, and eclectic, on-trend color combinations with useless gimmicks. We have a friend in the UK who lives near a Dyson factory and he warned us never to buy a Dyson, no…

Pros
  • Great range
Cons
  • unreliable

After a month of use

I bought this vacuum cleaner about a month ago, so my rating is based on first reactions only. I originally received the Bissell in November and three months later the plastic part that 'rolls up' the cord completely detached after hitting my bed frame. Then I ordered the Shark because I looked at the reviews and saw that they were mostly good. Until I dug deeper, I found that most of the negative reviews came from people who have owned a vacuum for a long time. Bad sign. I got the shark back…

Don't buy if you plan to use a hose and wand.

Let's start with the positives - very good suction, good manoeuvrability, has a loop handle - easier to pull. However - two significant pitfalls, one of which may make this unacceptable to many - firstly - not a big deal but certainly impractical - you have to unwind the power cord to use the hose/wand and as I understand when you wind it up it's designed that way - it's very bulky on a short cord (perhaps that's why the pictures always show a non-powered vacuum). Second, this can be a problem…

A good commercial vacuum cleaner with its own features

I have worked in the vacuum cleaning industry for several years and have recently moved into retail. I've had my eye on this vacuum for a long time and when I started my new job I realized I needed to replace an Oreck XL commercial vacuum that had previously been used due to beating and abuse. We now use this in combination with a large vacuum to vacuum 20,000 square feet of retail space with all standard carpet tiles. Before I bought this I was looking for replacement parts as if I remember…
