USB powered speakers are inferior to 110V powered speakers in terms of power limitation, so they occupy a niche of their own. These speakers are attractive and have reasonably clear sound and decent range. Of course, if you're after rumbling butt while gaming or want to project music clearly around the room without distortion, get a pair of powered speakers. But if you only want to watch YouTube videos or use it as a speaker for video calls (the microphone is of course separate), you will be quite satisfied with the sound of these speakers, even though the sound is a bit rougher and more basic. The price is pretty good for the sound quality you get. If you have these in your college dorm, LED lights will drive you and your roommate crazy.
