I have very thick earlobes. I did a simple ear lobe piercing and asked for extended bars because I know the standard size is too short for me - I did it for 5 years and then closed it due to an infection. This time I got 8mm rods. After the piercing started to swell, I got confused and realized I needed something a few millimeters longer. That's why I ordered them. No irritation, the ball stays in place. 4 stars instead of 5 just because my order was originally sent to the wrong address.
