Review on 🧊 Arctic Silver Ceramique CMQ2 2 7G Thermal Compound by Jamie Behm

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Used to be my favorite thermal paste.

I used this for everything. CPU, GPU, Northbridge, Southbridge if needed I used it. A very reliable thing if not used too much. I used too much on the Phenom II X4 once and later removed the heatsink and found it dried out and burned out after about a year of use. It wasn't powdery or moonsandy, but you could tell it wasn't as wet as when it was applied, and there were gray stains from the burn. I was more careful after that and it didn't happen again, everything was fine with the devices I used it on. However, with the introduction of the CryoRig brand, I bought one of their H5 Ultimate heatsinks for my Ryzen build and it came with a CP7 tube that sold in 4G tubes for $8.50. Instead I started using this material including recoating RX 480 which I had recoated with Ceramique almost half a year ago and I noticed a noticeable drop in temperature from CP7 as 85C was easily reached on Ceramique. and throttle down to 77. While this paste still does its job fairly well, it's no longer the best performer in town when it comes to non-conductive thermal paste performance. EDIT - CP7 is $13.44 on Revain, $8.50 on Newegg. The price is right, Revane!
