Hits above your weight and hits well below the belt

I'm a bass player and the latest amplification trend is tiny amps for loud live electric bass playing. These little amps are suited to the harsh environment of bass playing and I think they're even better suited to HT applications. This works smoothly and well by placing an old large 18" Carvin woofer in the far corner of our HT setup in a large (low ceiling) room. There is good volume; I run it at a volume level of between 11 and 1 and it matches our preference for medium to medium volume for music gaming and HT. If you already have a non-power subwoofer, buying it will not be difficult. I would also recommend this amp for DIY speakers like the Bill Fitzmaurice and other horn subwoofers. They can be operated as a full-range amplifier with the crossover deactivated. It would make a nice 2.1 office system, or maybe one of these could stream music to a chain of ceiling or wall speakers. A really versatile little mono amp. Built-in DC power supply avoids socket trouble. The amplifier does not reproduce it and does not hum through the speaker. If you have a massive system and want something that drives subwoofers outdoors, this may not be for you. But you probably know that. I hooked this up to a DJ set of turntables and it can rock a house party. Spotify sounds fantastic with my Yamaha amp set to 5.1 channel stereo. It really comes alive with this booster amp. Even if you have an old 5.1 channel audio preamp, a stack of six can bring that old device back to life. Highly recommended. Well built and looks solid all round. Sounds good.
