Get some unscented paint thinner and maybe a brush or two

I've never painted before. JE. After watching countless episodes of Bob Ross just for the mental massage he gives, I finally decided to pull the trigger on this inexpensive kit. I'll give my impressions, but I'll keep it to myself, I literally have NO frame of reference. I loved the colors! They seem thick and comfortable to use. I didn't have a palette so I used a piece of cardboard which wasn't perfect but worked. I didn't have an easel either, so my kitchen table, littered with paper towels, became my studio. I grabbed some pre-stretched 11" x 14" canvases and headed into town. After applying a thin layer of liquid white, I took some blue phthalo on my 1 inch brush and started painting the sky. I went about halfway through the canvas leaving a few slightly muddy areas and BOOM - Beautiful! blue sky! I applied some titanium white to my cardboard pallet and then I realized I was in trouble. I didn't have a chance to clean the brush! I tried my best with some water (doesn't work) and even varnish remover (doesn't work and smells awful) and of course dried as best I could on paper towels. I decided to do it anyway. happy, free clouds that just play in the sky all day long. They came out pretty good. I was impressed. I tried to create a beautiful landscape with trees and bushes. It didn't work that well. With all the blue and white brushes I could do almost nothing. give up some mountains. My picture ended up not being what I expected at all, but I was very happy with it nonetheless. I've since ordered a 2 inch brush, a #6 fan brush and some unscented thinner. I can't wait to start my second painting! Highly recommend this set, just don't forget to pack a few extras!
