This table is exactly what I need. It's small, more like what a child would use. But I needed it for my very small elderly mother and she is just right for eating and reading a book. The legs in the open position are placed between the armrests of the small chair she is using. Be sure to check the compartment dimensions if you need a size with more compartment space. The legs fold in easily but stay in place when needed. It's very easy. I'm sure there are nicer and more durable trays out there but for the money I'm very happy with my purchase.
