Overall I am satisfied with this tester. Cons: The LCD is small/difficult to read for people over 40, the ZIF socket is flimsy, and this affects the user's ability to safely wire the components you want to test. That can definitely be improved. Finally, the 40-second automatic is a pain. Sounds long, but in practice it isn't. If they increased the auto-off time to around two minutes, that would be ideal, and I suspect battery life wouldn't suffer much as a result. Finally, the "manual" isn't very helpful, more of a specification than an instruction manual. OK: that's right. Very accurate. I have compared it to various components of known value as well as another component meter. The device also provides very detailed information about the components. The color LCD display is nice, but like I said, if you're middle-aged or older, you'll need to wear reading glasses. I have used this device extensively over the past 6 months and it has never had a hiccup. All in all a good and inexpensive test device.
