Review on NexiGo PJ40 Movie Projector: High-Quality Native 1080P, 4K Supported With 600 ANSI Lumens, 300 Inch Screen Size, WiFi, Bluetooth 5.1, And More! by Todd Roybal

Nice upgrade over the PJ20 from 2 years ago

Excited that the unit arrived just before Christmas, originally projected to arrive on 12/28 or later…upon opening Ebay box, noticed retail packaging dented, but after unboxing, unit had no visible damage. Quickly grabbed my Apple TV, plugged in projector, turned on and went through setup steps. PJ40 appears to have some version of Android/Google TV running with a Nexigo OS on top. Nexigo Remote runs my Apple TV basic commands out of the box. Projector is brighter and cleared than the PJ20, the 4 way auto focus is a nice upgrade, allows you manual keystone and zoom to fit to screen with whatever screen or surface you are trying to project onto. This is cool for a projector at this price point. Now for cons, my unit appears to be defective though…something lose and sliding around when tilting the unit forward and back and while on, I got a consistent loud grinding noise due to possible internal cooling fan or motherboard potentially having a missing screw or broken mounting to housing. Right now my unit has been sent back to Nexigo Customer Service, awaiting there resolution.

Pros
  • 【Huge Display & Remote Control】This movie projector has a maximum display size of 300 inches (25 feet). You can browse the menu and adjust the focus with the included remote control (requires two AAA batteries, not included).
Cons
  • 600 ANSI lumens may not be sufficient for large-scale or outdoor projection needs
