Bought these for a bridal shower. Everyone loved them and asked what they were made of. They looked like ordinary everyday plates. Most were thrown away, but I saved and washed a few. We had a taco bar so they wouldn't get wet. They've stood up to salsa, beans and sauces, guacamole, etc. They have not bent, wrinkled or broken. Strong enough for other heavier products. There was no transfer of smell or taste to food, nobody got sick from eating it. They didn't have any weird smell from the packaging. I opened them up the same day I received them to check and air them out, although I do this for all non-washable plates I've used. We also used small plates for pastries and cakes, without impregnation. I have a vegetable garden and a compost pit. I took a plate and buried it in the ground. I regularly check for damage. I like the look of the plates. Much better than other foam, plastic and paper plates. I will use them as long as they decompose in the soil without harming the environment. I can't save the planet alone, but I definitely can, as can he! do everything i can!
