Great Mandolin: Kitchen & Dining

Overall I am very pleased with my purchase of the Norpro Mandolin. I was looking for a few other mandolins and almost bought one that didn't have an adjustable thickness control. It would be a big mistake. I love that I can adjust the veggies to any thickness I want. Now I can chop onions without crying! I've sliced zucchini, courgettes, onions, potatoes, etc. The only annoyance I have with this handy device is the 3 straw blades, which are a bit difficult to attach. I had many problems when I first tried to insert them. The instructions that came with the mandolin didn't help at all as it was only a 1 page flyer. I've since figured out how to make it a little easier, but it's still a pain in the ass to glue it in place. Also, it's a bit tricky but doable, pushing potatoes for french fries and sweet potatoes is very difficult. With sweet potatoes, it would be easier to use a knife.
