Today I personally installed two of these plugs - for the first time! If I had a wire stripper I could do it a lot faster. I plan on ordering some wire strippers as I want to replace some of the other outlets my husband ruined by putting 250w bulbs in them. The lamps still worked, but the bulbs burned out very quickly and often with a loud bang. Before I started, I searched YouTube for instructions on how to do this; I just wanted to add to the instructions that come with these sockets. This helped as I was having a hard time removing the socket cover from the socket on my lamps and I saw one person having the same issue and how he dealt with it. I also found that I can turn ANY lightbulb into a 3-way lightbulb by simply plugging in a 3-prong socket. I didn't know this because I refused to buy some lamps because I prefer three-way lamps. This 50W setting is good if you just want ambient lighting or bulbs in the corners of the room to make the room look bigger and nicer. As you can see, I'm very proud of myself for making it today!
