Review on Feit Electric FC8 840 LED by Brody Jacobs

I was pleased that the description said "plug and play". I did just that, the lamp caught fire and everything seems fine. Suddenly the lamp stopped working, I removed the cover and found the ballast had melted into the plastic and burned out, it was so hot. I am very thankful that it didn't catch fire and didn't cause a fire in the house. I then went through the owner's manual to see what happened. Deep down in the instructions it was stated that the replacement is not compatible with all ballasts. A list can be found on the website. When I checked it was clear that most of the incompatible ballasts were wire transformer ballasts like mine. Why not write on the packaging? I then ordered a new electronic ballast and a new lamp, since the nearby fire also destroyed the first new lamp. Now that everything is compatible, the lamp works well and is much cooler than the original fluorescent lamp. Please consider changing the field to indicate the incompatibility.
