I bought this product to display photos on an old LCD hanging in my living room which I have connected an old computer to to display photos. the hard drive of the PC still running XP died. it also ran away and i poked the old vga cable through the wall. I was looking for a cheap alternative and this works great. where the reviews here say that VGA does not work. that when you plugged it in you had a red screen and the picture was messed up. Well that's exactly what happened to me. I was about to return it when I decided to hook it up to one of my HDTVs via an HDMI connection. But maybe I had the wrong attitude. It worked fine on an HDTV and after looking at the remote it has a VGA button. I thought it wouldn't be that easy, but it was. initial settings in the box - automatic connection to hdmi by pressing the vga button on the remote control a signal is sent to the vga output. it was so easy.
