Review on Staub Cast Cocotte Set Matte Black by Marty Drury

I had several Lodge cast iron pans, pots etc but lost them when separated. This dust set was on sale when I bought them as a replacement. They are absolutely beautiful and pretty much what you would expect to cook with. However, compared to the Lodge, I find them a bit more difficult to clean. I avoid using traditional soapy detergents and use soft to medium sponges, washcloths, etc. My Lodge pots and pans have never complained about this treatment. but to apply the same procedures to this set I would probably need to apply 10-20% more elbow grease. I would suggest if you are already loyal to a brand (e.g. Lodge) then stick with it. Otherwise you will probably be very happy with this set.
