I bought this as an upgrade from my X5 III. I really like the sound of the X5, but it's horrendously slow across the board, has a clunky/slow UI, and poor battery life. The buttons on the side are also incredibly responsive. It's too easy to skip to the next track or press the play/pause button. Out of frustration, I mostly got my phone back on, except in static scenarios where I need background music or something. So far, the M9 eliminates all of these problems. The touchscreen, UI, and music app are fast. It's not that different from the X5 in design, but it's a lot quicker at creating playlists or organizing things like a brand new device. So far the battery life seems excellent. It's everything I hoped the X5 would be an Android device two years ago, but it didn't happen. I can just search for music, click next thing etc. Sounds wise, it's awesome. It easily controls everything from my Fiio IEM to Sennheiser HD 700, just like the X5. I would probably have gone for the M6 (if it was available) if I didn't want to drive the HD 700 but needed the extra power.
