I needed a new motor for my Prusa 3D printer. Movement along the Y-axis was jerky and unstable. After identifying a motor fault as the culprit (by toggling the X/Y motor inputs on the Raspberry Pi printer motherboard and seeing that the Y motor failed with X commands, but the X motor runs with Y commands) , I thought that a cheap trial would be to order a new motor and hope that the problem is solved. Received the next day and simply disconnected the old motor Y-cable and connected the new one through the clip attached to it. Worked well with manual command moves (didn't need 4 wire position adjustment) so I fished out the wiring (long enough wire) and replaced the bolted motor. The test print was done, so I wrapped and fastened the wiring. Slightly longer than the stock engine so I adjusted the Y belt tensioner (on the front of the car) to the correct position. After many prints I am very satisfied with the performance. Everything works like new. It's a wonderful thing about open source hardware.
