Random bending leaves bumps on the plastic surface

How to draw a perfect circle? After my geometric compass got rusty and unusable in high school, the only way I knew how to do it was to run a pencil over a drinking glass. Although I only need to draw a few circles, I thought it would be a great tool for decorating and highlighting magazine pages. He really works for it, great. I have a childlike joy in the creative and decorative abilities of artistically set circles. It's also a handy ruler, the external dimensions of 10" x 8" make it suitable for use with laptops. But there is a problem that seems to make it unusable. The plastic is flexible enough not to break easily, but stiff enough that when bent at an angle over another object it leaves bumps on the surface and ripples on the edges. It looks like it may eventually break at the stress point of repeated random flexing. This seems to happen when it slips under a sofa cushion or bends and squeezes between one thing and another in my pocket. There's probably good reason to make the stencil surface flexible enough to flex around something like a can or pillow, but for my needs it would be much better if it was a harder plastic.

Pros
  • Ease of use
Cons
  • Quick start guide
