I found this to be an incredibly expensive piece of styrofoam with little glue on it. Several do-it-yourself options are discussed on various kayaking websites that work much better and cheaper. While I appreciate and own other Garmin products, this didn't work for me and I wouldn't recommend it, especially considering how overpriced it is. After spending about $25 on it, the $3 I spent on sewer putty at the hardware store was the best investment. This product's configuration was also not compatible with my kayak and will only work if the mounting surface is completely flat. It was impossible to cut it to fit the internal teeth of my kayak, there wouldn't be enough material to attach the sensor.
