Review on AirThreds 16X20X1 Washable Friendly Reusable by Matt Kucrud

This size filter is used It can be washed in my washing machine as the filter material is a polyester "bag" that attaches to a frame with an elastic cord. P.1 shows a bag with a filter and a frame, instructions, a dry erase pen and inscriptions on the magnet the date when the filter needs to be changed (washed) (pages 2 and 3) The filter has a glued end . Zipper into which the frame is inserted and then secured with a zipper. The filter has a label showing the direction of airflow. (pp.4,5,6). I put it back in and everything is fine. There was a gap of about 1/2 inch at the top since the filter measures 19.75 x 15.75 x 0.75 inches. I want a tighter fit (20" x 16") to limit bypass of unfiltered air. This deducts a half star, but as there are no half stars I use 5 as a default. I don't currently see any other sizes available from this seller. This seller claims MERV 8 for this filter. The air filter's minimum efficiency rating is its MERV rating, which indicates how effective the filter is at preventing dust and other airborne particles, such as pollen, from passing through the filter. Filters with a high MERV rating above 16 are intended for hospital operating rooms. This is a household filter with MERV 8 that handles dust, lint and pollen well. If the filter cloth is damaged, pinched, or punctured, it will not function at this level and must be replaced. The seller recommends monthly washing as a zipper or hook on the garment can damage the material. With careful use it should last a while and cost less than the 4 filters I usually use. It's summer at the moment so I'll see how it goes in the fall. I recommend this AirThreds 16x20x1 air filter for HVAC oven, machine washable and tumble dry friendly. Reusable air filters MREV 8 Plus.
