Review on General Tools 450 - 6-Inch Divider Tool by Tony Wilson

I bought these dividers to fit the dovetails over the end of the board and just spread them out evenly. I found a demo video of how to arrange dovetails with dividers online and I won't go into detail but I decided to use some drawers as I have some drawers for a dresser and wanted to use dovetails . to build boxes. These dividers come with two compass points that allow you to mark measurements accurately. The dividers come sealed in plastic and coated with oil to prevent them from rusting in humid climates. It needs to be cleaned before use (I just used a soft cloth and it was immediately removed with mineral spirits). Some of the other dividers I looked at had a plastic adjustment screw and didn't look very good. They have a metal adjustment screw and a strong spring at the top that pushes the legs outward against the adjustment nut. This feature makes it easy to set any size within the adjustment range of the dividers. I posted some dovetail plates and they do exactly what I wanted. Goodbye! I recommend them to anyone laying out dovetails using the method I use as they are evenly spaced and the same size if that's what you want. You need to make precise cuts for the dovetails to work properly. Happy woodworking!
