I'm thirsty! See edit

The workmanship is wonderful. I have half a dozen other bamboo boards and smearing it with oil overnight seemed to be sufficient as all of these bamboo boards failed; that is, they still had a lot of oil on them. I've been oiling this locust board for three days now and it's just starting to show signs of failure. I'll probably soak it overnight again and call it good. I'm on my seventh day and STILL oiling. It will continue to soak in more slowly and MAY run down the sides into the paper. Towels around the board but yesterday at 10am the surface was covered in oil. When I got up this morning the top of the board was dry. I'll probably stop messing with her after today. ALSO; I just abused it for the first time: Last night I had a ribbed basket and bumped into five places I couldn't get the cleaver through. So I took my wooden Osborne mallet and smashed right through the cleaver. I looked for holes in the board but didn't see anything! It must be true what they say about "self-healing"!
