Review on πŸ“ Stanley 42-287: Premium Aluminum Line Level for Accurate Leveling by Robby Fingaw

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A worthwhile tool in the laser age

I've been working in concrete for over 30 years and always had a linear spirit level with me. I have two rotary lasers, a visible light laser, almost one from Stabila, including a 4ft electronic laser and in certain situations I choose the line plane. They're unbeatable for speed in certain situations, and they're accurate enough for clearing puddles or just reading terrain quickly. They also allow for quick solo checks without having to tune the instrument. I wouldn't use it to actually level anything or determine an important slope. For short runs, regular bubble level is more accurate, and lasers are your best bet for consistent shapes. But for a few bucks I have one on my apron and in every truck.

Pros
  • Country of origin: China
Cons
  • Very expensive
