Review on πŸ”ͺ Black 7-Inch Portable Can Opener - Swing-A-Way by John Bennett

Won't be left behind

So I ordered this, assuming it's the same Swing-A-Way I bought at Walmart a few years ago. Not sure if they changed the design or if I just got a broken one, but this one is definitely not the same - the previous one I had was used constantly multiple times a day (me and my 2 roommates cooked a lot of canned goods ) and for many years it has not never spoiled. Unfortunately I left this can opener to one of my roommates :( This one just sucks. While it still has the good weight and hard working feel of the previous one, it just struggles to open ONE can. when you twist it, which leads to about halfway (sometimes more than once) it loses its bite mark forcing you to reattach it and at the end it loses its bite again... there are these 2 solid gaps of metal you can try around it pinching again and opening those pieces, but that usually fails so I end up taking a fork and wedge it in the gap and basically wiggle it until the metal is warm enough to loosen.when the lid is off the tomato sauce splattered all over my kitchen more than once and the rubber pads on it keep slipping off.

Pros
  • Home and Kitchen
Cons
  • No paint required
