Ideal for those who love observing the world of insects.

When I was pruning my milkweed plants last month (February) I found three busy monarch caterpillars feeding (this is California mind you we don't have what you could call real winter and lots of life forms that we live here year round.I brought them indoors to protect them from our incredible rains (preferably after a drought but not good for small caterpillars) and watched them grow and eventually pupa.I bought this habitat , put the pupae in and in a few weeks was rewarded with 3 amazing and beautiful monarchs. The cage is big enough to keep them healthy for a few days (using nectar substitutes) and when they got a little restless and wanted to fly more seriously, I just took the cage outside, opened it up and watched them float away.. One of them actually turned into a life cage m back which I left outside and opened up with a feeding station inside; He stopped, had a quick drink, and then flew away for good. I always find adorable insects and other creatures in my garden and am glad there is a suitable environment for them (I even found a very attractive little chocolate shade). centipede which wandered about diligently for several hours before I released it again) - I take them to the station for a day or two and then let them go back into the garden. The large viewing window makes it easy to see insects, and the fabric on the interior's wings is delicate (assuming it's a winged creature, which centipedes and spiders certainly don't). It folds easily for storage, opens in a second and is perfect for my needs.
