Great super large swivel mount for the price

This mount is pretty solid with a 100lb 85" TV plus some accessories and honestly not bad for that Money. for mounting very large displays. Don't trust the built-in bubble level though, bring your own to the party. Luckily, the built-in bubble level was only slightly off and I was able to easily correct the TV's position by adjusting the mount, but this annoyed me when I tried to be more precise with my settings. Cleats (with a 16-inch center design, that's all you can hit) with a lag activated in the top bracket to use the slide function to hold it for me, and then two Spax -Power lags in the lower mounts so I trust those with heavier loads. I also used 8 more 265 studs in the drywall spaced evenly around the remaining mounting holes to give 4 equal spacing between the 2 studs and 4 on the outside of the 2 studs at the corners. I have used shift latches to provide as many contact points as possible for both additional load support and stability when the mount is extended. This made the mount super stable with the 125 pounds loaded on it and I'm not worried about the expensive Sony 85" going anywhere. I really like using these mounts over thin mounts as it's a lot easier is to move the display to change an HDMI cable, or access USB ports for manual media updates/playback, etc. When two or more people are lifting or detaching the TV, it's worth using this style for simple tasks, which otherwise wouldn't be possible unaided. With all of this, there are far more convenient swivel mounts out there, however they cost a lot more and frankly don't offer the same value as these rugged Monoprice mounts.

Pros
  • TV mounts within 1.8" of the wall
Cons
  • I'll write back
