For the last 2 years I have been doing Bas Rutten's heavy bag training program 3-4 times a week. During that time I've experimented with cheaper entry-level gloves (Everlast), mid-range gloves (Ringside, Fairtex), and high-end Cleto Reyes gloves. Certainly these gloves are far superior to all others in terms of comfort, durability and performance. I only used them for heavy bag training. I have no formal training and my uniform is probably sloppy, but for those just looking for great work gloves, this is the way to go. Don't let the thin padding and missing thumb fool you, with the right fist your thumb won't scratch the bag at all. I've had my first pair of these shoes for 6 months now and they are holding up great. I received my second pair last night and there is no doubt that I will not need gloves for at least another year.
