Slight stain when mixed.

Experiment with water, alcohol and linseed oil if you want to use it as a stain instead of paint. It coats hardwoods and softwoods differently depending on the medium used, so test it on scrap wood first, but it produces lovely blue tones with a nice metallic sheen if you take your time and experiment.
