I really like these needles. I have arthritis in my hands and wood is much more comfortable than plastic or metal and seems to put a lot less strain on my joints. Wood has a slightly stronger grip on yarn than plastic and metal, so stitches are less likely to accidentally slip off the end of the needle (although this can still happen if you're not careful). In knitting, however, there is no problem with the stitches slipping off the needles smoothly. The connection between the needle and the plastic "string" is made with a metal tip, and this connection is very smooth so the yarn doesn't get caught on anything. An additional plus is that the olive tree is very beautiful. I've used them on several knitting projects and so far have no complaints.
