Review on πŸ”§ Fumoto F108S FS-Series Drain Valve: Short Nipple & Lever Clip, Bronze Finish - 16mm-1.5 by Ray Richards

What a new idea that should be part of the standard equipment!

Why don't all car manufacturers preinstall this thing in every car in the world! If my Craftsman mower has it, why doesn't my Subaru have it? I just did my first oil change and installed it on my 2016 Crosstrek. It was easy to put on. Don't be a dummy like me and forget that it's upside down when you open and close it to check after installation. At first I thought I had damaged it, but I forgot that I have to "pull" the lever down to open it. I read that many reviews said not to over tighten. So far there is no sign of a leak. I also bought a set of hoses and nipples from Fumoto, it arrived a few days later than the valve as it was shipped from Cali. After putting the included hose nipple on the valve, it didn't want to come loose easily in cold weather, so I just left it alone. A little extra protection for the valve, although the Subie has plastic protection under the engine and the oil pan and drain valve are located separately so as not to open the valve. I can't wait to change the oil next time! No more 0w20 "water-oil" mayhem!
