Always prewash your fabric, dear Ravenians!

The colors are not as rich as in the photo, rather dull. It also doesn't look like 100% cotton, it looks like a poly-cotton blend, but I haven't done a burn test and haven't washed them yet because at times the sizing added to the fabric makes it feel a little flimsy. If after washing it still has the smooth feel of polyester, I will do a burn test and let you know if it really is polyester. (Google "burn test" if you want to try it yourself.) I've found that many reviewers mention that the fabric shrinks...YES, cotton fabric does shrink! ALWAYS prewash the fabric, even if it's a cotton/poly blend, and ALWAYS allow for at least 10% shrinkage. I'm actually quite surprised that people don't know that fabrics should always be prewashed and dried before sewing. Always use the highest temperature you can use when washing a sewn item. I always pre-wash in hot water so I never get any nasty surprises. (Maybe quilters behave differently than us seamstresses, but I don't want my quilt to shrink after sewing, especially when some parts of my quilt are made from natural synthetic blends, leaving a wobbly fabric. Quilt.) I've been sewing since about 4 Decades of clothing, and that's basic knowledge. If an item you make from fabric is NEVER washed (I can't imagine it) then that's another story, but I assume you will wash your blanket, face mask and bias binding. , a small handbag or garment using this thick quarter. If you don't believe me then don't complain in your review that it's gone down, you've been warned.
