My 5 year old son who is 40-41 pounds and 45-48 inches tall started kayaking with me and he really enjoys kayaking ( at least for the first few hours ). To keep him busy when the excitement died down I bought him this oar. He tried several times but lost interest after about five minutes and said it was difficult. He's not exactly the biggest kid, but I'd say he's not easy. Maybe they have what looks like an "imaginary" paddle so he can use it just for fun. It feels durable compared to my own paddle and I expect it to last as my son grows up. These are three pieces where the top is adjustable. Is the bottom and middle section connected by one of those spring loaded pins/buttons? The paddle is bent which is expected/standard.
