Sorry, I couldn't resist. Back of toilet and wall/bulkhead (thanks to designer/builder!), this toilet seat accepts a1. traditional bottom mount (plastic screws/bolts through toilet mounting holes secured with plastic threaded grommets/nuts on bottom), OR, and this is a game changer, 2nd top mount (special rubberized "sleeves" with internal metal threads secured by toilet mounting holes metal screws). This second method was the ONLY way to successfully install a toilet seat in a closed room scenario (facing SIE Bemis, Mayfair, JABSCO, etc.). That alone is commendable, BUT (no pun intended), add: 1. The most comfortable, sturdiest little toilet seat ever made (and as beautiful as a toilet seat CAN be), and 2. Slow closing feature for both seats and Lid and you have a "5 Star" product. and make a thank you card that was frankly better than the ones we got from friends and/or relatives (you know who you are) after we gave them something prettier than that toilet seat. .
