Twenty years ago we had multifunctional colored lights that made this pencil tree set a real point of light and movement. Headlights became less reliable every year and it took many frustrating hours to fix light problems. After messing around with fuses, lightbulbs and replacing entire strings, I decided it was time to ditch the old headlights this year and switch to LEDs. The biggest hurdle for me now was to find an LED kit that is not too big/small and has a multifunctional option. These lights have been working fine (it's only been a week so far); They have the ability to go end-to-end* and have the added bonus of always being in sync! This gives me the luxury of putting them on a timer (sold separately) without worrying about re-timing the lights when they turn back on. As I am seriously considering buying more trees for other trees I would like to re-string them. YEAR-END UPDATE: The season is over and I'm still loving these lights. *Each thread is CONNECTABLE, you just need to unplug the detachable AC connector, making it compatible with the next thread connector. There are lots of wires from the plug to the first bulb in case you want to attach them to each element like I did with each tree. Each thread includes a separate remote control, but you only need to use one when connecting. Just keep the others as a reserve.
