I doubted they would work, but they're great for thin wire. I make a lot of steampunk lamps, like in the photo. The plugs are polarized, which is very important. I would never use this on thicker wires (16, 14). It is important that you only apply them to low-wattage lamps. For anything heavier, I always use a grounded plug. I have a second set and they work great with braided lamp wire. Another nice thing is that the plug has a small rectangular footprint, which helps in tight spaces and when the outlet is behind something. I've seen other negative reviews about them but usually people use them in the wrong application or with a heavier gauge wire.
