It was good in many ways - good size, hollow bottom so there's more room inside than you might think, but the first problem I had was with warm nights doesn't get warm. I liked it smaller because it stayed warm for quite a long time after I turned off the light, so the heat gradually decreased. Another thing is that it was very convenient for cockroaches to hide where they couldn't get, but it wasn't easy for me to get out either! So it did the job as long as it got close, and in summer it provided some shade from the heat and didn't keep the heat in, but it didn't keep the heat out either, so it wasn't a cool shade either. As for winter use and a desire to spend or at least keep warm? Not as much. He didn't want to climb it either and since it's plastic and not stone resin it was slippery even with the texture so he never climbed it.
