After a few headaches it was a good buy

I originally had a non-region LG 4K player because it was the cheapest I could find. Well, a month later, there was an electric shock and I died completely. Since my return date had already passed, I had to accept this loss. So I found this Sony which was good because it's the same brand as my 7.2 surround sound receiver. The headache comes from the fact that this is the first time I have ordered a refurbished device and it worked fine until I saw that it is not region free as advertised. However, Amazon accepted the return and refunded my money, and I bought it again from a third-party seller on Amazon. They sent the right one and this player works great. Easy setup and lots of options to customize to your liking. I basically left everything on automatic and had no problems. Setting up different regions is easy as you simply turn off the device with no content and press and hold the color button that corresponds to the region you want to play (region colors are listed in the manual). The device will turn on in a few seconds and you can play in any selected region. You may or may not need to update the player, but just connect to the internet and it will let you know if it's up to date or available. This device has already been updated. Overall, I think it's worth a few bucks more and has more features than the LG model.

Pros
  • Two HDMI outputs - HDMI cable not included. High Speed HDMI Cable is the only connection that allows you to play Blu-ray in 4K or 1080p with digital surround sound.
Cons
  • Long delivery time
