Review on πŸ’§ Blue Brita Total360 BRDROS Reverse Osmosis Water Filtration System for Undersink Use by Haley Sammons

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Suitable for low demand

UPDATE: I called Brita's very good customer service and they think my expansion tank is defective. I've tried adding air to the tank but it won't charge or show any pressure. They send me a new tank. It will help, but I think it has too few features for our use. However, this is a good system for those who need a small amount of water per day or whose needs are spread throughout the day. The faucet is really good, which cannot be said of most filters. ORIGINAL: I was very excited about this little device, but after installing it I was surprised at how little water came out. I checked the owner's manual (I don't see anything on the Revain page) and it says it's up to 14.76 gallons per day. I looked at one that did 400 gallons and my old one did 50. I didn't even think it would be that slow now. I probably don't use 14 gallons a day, but you only get what's in a small tank, maybe half a gallon, then you have to wait and wait for more to filter out. So if you want to fill a few jugs or a watering can, out of luck if you don't want to water your plants all day. When the tank is empty, nothing comes out. There isn't even a continuous trickle like my old filter. After it was installed and flushed for a few days, I let it sit for about 18 hours and then measured how much water came out. I have 13 1/2 cups (.8125 gallons) so that should be the maximum capacity of the tank. I measured how much more came out after an hour and got less than a cup. 15 minutes later (75 minutes total) I had enough water to make a full cup. It can speed up as the tank fills up, but it's still incredibly slow. And the capacity of the tank will decrease with age unless recharged with an air compressor. I replaced a 15 year old reverse osmosis system. It's much smaller and was very easy to install. The instructions were very good and most of the connections were pluggable. The faucet requires a hole in the post. It doesn't require an outlet. Many newer systems do this, so it's important to check. I don't have any, so I figured it would be easier than redoing the plumbing to the dishwasher and chute. The only difficulty I had was that my old system used some custom sized fittings and I had to dig around to find the ones I needed. The new faucet is very good but I used my old one as well as the Delta faucet that goes with my faucet. This allows me to get a few gallons of water before waiting an hour for the next fill. But I don't think this device will last long in our house. It's too slow. I am extremely disappointed.
