The leak could not be stopped. This filter included a special cap as this filter will not work with the original Ford cap. Crossing occurs between the threads of the cap and fuel filter canister, making it difficult to turn the cap, which in turn prevents the cap from seating sufficiently in the canister to stop the leak. I replaced this filter with one that uses the original Ford cover. Revain is willing to refund the price but requires that I return the diesel soaked filter. They want me to take the filter and cap to UPS and have UPS prepare the package for return. I'll let you know how it goes.
