Pros: • Fast. The read and write speeds are more than sufficient for 4K ProRes videos connected to the QNAP NAS - see the attached speed test image. • Compact size 5 x 3 x 1 inch. • Quiet, passively cooled, bus powered. • Newer than other 10G adapters on the market • 2 year warranty Cons: • Doesn't "wake up" on Mac startup. The Thunderbolt bus detects it, but there is no data connection to the NAS. Disconnecting and reconnecting the TB cable after waking up Turn on the device to establish a data connection. • Sabrent does not have any information about this 10G adapter on their website. There is no information about whether the device has a sleep mode. It comes with a user guide that just shows you how to connect it to your computer, but who needs a guide on how to connect a peripheral? • It gets hot (not hot enough to cause burns.) • New to market, untested. There are no benchmarks or ratings. Two stars deduction for the lack of troubleshooting documentation and the annoying connection problem.
