I bought this driftwood at a good price. I know you need to soak them for a while before using them. I soak for a few weeks before putting in aquariums. Even after about two months, the water in my aquarium turned orange and the water became darker and darker. Worse, he released some weird slim ones. For those who think this is something with my tank, I'm an experienced tank owner. I have several tanks, others with hooks. This has never happened in tanks that used other driftwood. I'm not sure where this hook came from, but if you buy it you might have to soak it for a year or so. Just a suggestion.
