I've just bought a bright red car and wanted to protect the paint. This material seemed to be the best, and Consumer Reports rated it the most durable. I've never waxed a car before, but it was very easy. It dried to a white haze in about 30 seconds and then rubbed off immediately. So I went through the car wash and when I was half waxing the stuff I saw and couldn't tell the difference between the waxed side and the unwaxed side. Maybe the dealer I bought it from already waxed it, even though it's been a month and 1,500 miles and it's been on the road that whole time. Do dealers also wax their cars? Anyway the car was already bright and shiny, I just wanted to protect the paint and only doing it once a year is quite nice. I've seen youtube videos of people applying this stuff and it makes the car a lot more waterproof even after a year so I'll probably keep using it year after year. I tried not to put it on black plastic. Fairings but ended up getting a bit on the edge of the front fender and it's now a dull white that won't wash off with water. Just something to be aware of. Edit: It only took me 5-6 months before I needed another app. Still better than other products but not nearly the full year they advertised.
