As another review says, this product is definitely more rose gold than standard gold. I bought it to match the gold cornices so I will be back. The lid is plastic, not glass, but it doesn't look particularly cheap, and it's definitely a good "budget" buy if that's what you're after! If you haven't seen it in the product description, it's important to note that this light uses different bulbs than traditional screw-in bulbs - we wanted to install this in a rental property and wanted to make it easy for renters to change bulbs. without worrying about buying non-traditional, so along with the rose gold color it didn't match.
