This is much more functional than my electric stove. Holds the temperature much better than any "burner with a brain". In addition, you can activate, set and forget the timer. This requires pans with magnetic material. But the performance and temperature control is so good that food never burns and the non-stick coating lasts forever. The unit has a fan that is as loud as my range hood in my kitchen at medium speed. It can replace a slow cooker very effectively, except that the slow cooker is silent. And the order of the control buttons is a bit spooky. Apart from that and the fan noise, it would have rated it a five in my book.
