Review on πŸ“» Enhance Communication on the Go with the AnyTone AT-778UV Dual Band Transceiver Mobile Radio VHF/UHF Ham Radio for Car Vehicle by Jimmy Bores

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great little radio. Works well

This radio works well. The display is nice and seems to work well. I checked the performance on both bands. It was within a watt of its advertised value. The menu works well. Receive audio is very good and I have had good reports of transmit audio. The radio is larger than the BB-898C micro set but still a mini radio. The only thing stopping me from giving it 5 stars is the lack of DTMF tone dialing. I knew this was happening. I didn't need this feature but if I had it this would really be a top notch radio. I also bought a programming cable. I have to warn you about the software. There are two versions. There are versions 1.00 and 2.00. The radio I received was NOT working with version 2.00. When I tried to read the radio it said "Invalid Version". It was easy to find version 2.00 online, but NOT easy to find version 1.00. Maybe people sent WRONG people looking for AT_778U_setup 1.00. That is not right. That is, for another radio only UHF. If you need version 1.00, you need AT_778UV_setup_1.00. Version 1.00 can be found on the Russian radio scanner website. I would like manufacturers to make new software versions backward compatible. In any case, the software works well once you get it. Overall this is a good little radio and the best mini set I've used so far.
