This controller was exactly what I expected. My dump truck trailer also uses a 3-wire device since it is a gravity descent (non-powered case. The "D" button simply releases the hydraulic pressure to lower the dump truck). Received in two days. And the price was right. The "tail" wires were shorter than the ones I replaced, but I got it working.
