I may be stupid but part of me expected the other side to be printed as well but I guess that was just impractical? It was solid and freshly printed so I was a little disappointed with it but! after a few washes and regular use it softened and the black faded but i like it more than bold, it could also be the use of fabric softener that loosened the harshness. Now it is soft and not too hard and can be used regularly as a blanket. Excellent quality :)
