Review on 🔒 Dorman 55817 Fuel Tank Sending Unit Lock Ring: Perfect Fit for Ford Models by Shane Schobinger

Pretty much the same problem as Terry Beasley did in his review. I bought this because my retaining ring somehow broke and I was leaking fuel from the top of my tank when it was more than half full. This ring fits my '99 Ford Ranger, 4WD, 3.0L Flex Fuel, Super Cab, very tight. In the end I managed to put it on but it gave me a headache. I figured I'd have to buy an overpriced snap ring tool to get it back. After a lot of effort I managed to get the cap on most of it and then finished it off with a piece of wood and a hammer to firmly attach the cap. The official part is available from FordParts for only $20. If I had to do it again, I'd pay a few bucks more, get the original, and hopefully save myself the hassle.
