I Foreword: We have used a larger Hoover vacuum for many years, live in a carpeted house and then an apartment. But since moving to a smaller house with hardwood floors we have received two 6ft x 9ft rugs for which we decided to downsize our rug cleaner to this #25299. After numerous delays I was unfortunately able to get this Bissell unit use only at 10 weeks after receipt. It's about good will. Cons first: 1. CABLE: The power cord is long enough, but it comes out the bottom of the unit. You either have to drape it over your shoulder or hold it so you don't trip over it. It should be attached to the top of the unit like a normal vacuum cleaner.2. FILL/RECOVERY TANK: Joke. Easy access and it looks like it can handle a gallon of dirty water, but the float mechanism allows it to fill about a quarter (1/4) of the way and it shuts off. The recovery tank holds approximately half the volume of the water/solution tank.3. Sucking: In short, sucking sucks. With only 2 passes of water/mortar following Bissell's instructions I have slowly walked over the area 3-4 times and I still find the carpet(s) to be overly damp. The suction power of the Hoover is so good that just a typical double sweep of the Hoover will leave the carpets practically dry. POSITIVE NOTE: 1. HANDLE: A folding handle is nice, but it doesn't matter if you put it in a closet, out of sight anyway.2. LIGHT WEIGHT: As they tout, it's light and easy to navigate (once you remove the burned-out cable)3. CLEANING: The roller/blender has a nice design and is very easy to disassemble for cleaning (you can't do this on an old Hoover machine). SUMMARY: If you don't have a waterproof barrier under your mats; You can wait about a day for your carpets to dry. You want extra exercise by constantly emptying a basin of dirty water; and ignore the added cord wrestling gymnastics. Do yourself a favor and get a full-size carpet cleaner. The footprint (the area where the vacuum cleaner actually stands on the floor) isn't much smaller than a regular, larger carpet cleaner. The larger block is slightly heavier and holds more water due to the larger motor, but you will be happier. If your sole purpose is to clean up small areas where your spouse spilled wine or had a pet accident, get one of the real little handheld stain removers. If you clean rugs or rugs, no matter the size, do yourself a favor and do it right by using a larger block.
